On The Move Brentwood 2014

How amazing were the first two days with warm sunny weather!  While it showered a bit on Saturday, it soon dried out & didn’t slow us down☺   The music and worship this year was beautiful and lifted the heart & faith of those who listened.  Helen Yousaf led our local musicians wonderfully in prophetic proclamation Thurs, ECHO music brought the joy and worship to the streets Fri., and Kevin Lim pulled together a brilliant band for Saturday.   Many came just because of the lovely singing and playing. While the first day was very challenging with low team numbers, the Lord was our help & He brought it all together so the three days were brilliant.

Over the three days we did a total of 1070 burgers, 470 sausages  and 96 vegi.. giving a total of 1636 servings.  Our dedicated catering team cut onions, sliced bread rolls, grilled while it was very hot, & served the burgers, rolls, onions, sauces and water with the Joy of the Lord.
There were at least four people who gave their lives to Christ for the first time, and at least two who rededicated their lives to Christ.

The first one was Lawrence …  – Peter Ruck gave this testimony: “I had a really good time sharing the Gospel with this young man all 7’2’’ of him. He told he was attracted by the music. Started off telling me he was an Atheist. Told him a few stories regarding creation. Asked him what he would like me to pray for-  it was “peace” in his heart for himself his parents and sisters. Asked him how he found his way from Portsmouth to Brentwood & he told me a Stat Nav. It gave me the opportunity to give the tract – he read it intently was ready to respond to the Gospel.
Action – Linked him with Athletes in Action as he is keen to work with young people as a basketball  player.”

A number of people were prayed for who had walking problems, sticks, and when they were prayed for the pain went! Two of them were dancing at one stage because all the pain in their legs had disappeared.  One gave her life to Christ along with her sister  (that was Joan and June), another (Linda) will go back to her local church St Peter’s)  Lesley had a blood clot & pain In her leg… when prayed for “she reported her leg became hot and pain had gone. Shared the gospel with her, she told me she a lapsed Christian and prayed a prayer asking Jesus back in her life.”

A special testimony is about George Age 12  (Mum Kathy).
“George had been in continuous pain – he felt all the pain leave his body- his smile told his story- then shared the Gospel, he loved “Tear & Share” Gave him a Bible, Why Jesus and other lit.
Kathy was blown away by her son, very touched… her eyes where full of tears.
Ministry to Kathy – She told after holding her talking to her, she felt the tingling in her arm get better. I hadn’t prayed at this stage.

She then told me she had diabetes. Her arm felt painful she suffers with “parathesia” numbness and pins and needles. I prayed for her arm & the pain had gone, I also prayed for anxiety and depression. She was angry with God, I prayed for God to touch her emotionally and to give her a peace in her heart. I encouraged her to return to Church she had attended Christ Church sometime back –

Action – I introduced her to the new vicar Rob.” From Peter R  (This was such a God timing thing- Rob had just come up to see his first On The Move BBQ!  GS)

Many other team members had the opportunity to pray with people, share testimonies, give Gospel Tracts, the Father’s Love Letter, invitations to Athletes in Action.

We would love prayer for others- like Ali, Ottoman and Mohamed who had a good talk with Daniel C & took “God’s love letter”

Chancy who is new to the area and helped us pack up everything

James in the Army

Tony fighting addictions-  Harry shared his testimony of God setting him free from all that junk & taking the weight of the burden of guilt and shame off through Jesus!

Mike prayed with Debbie who was fearful and felt God didn’t answer prayer.

We prayed with several fire fighters who were on strike about the injustice of changes to their pension scheme etc.

Margaret (around 80 yrs) was unwell & had a hospital appointment the next day.  As we prayed for her to be well & explained how much the Father loved her, the brightest smile lit up her face!

Jackie who had the “tear & share” presentation & wants to know more

Ken who had deafness in right ear.  No improvement when prayed yet.

Joel & Ollie, two teens from Romford who enjoyed the burgers & a fag by the side!  They each took “the greatest power in the universe” track  & received a blessing on their lives.

Peter who is now retired & questioning the purpose of life- lives near Sawyers & introduced to Ben & John.

P & M from Iran had a lovely conversation with P & have met up for coffee already!

Tony T had many good conversations-

Jean shared the Gospel with Ross & Mary an older couple

Colette who needs a church

Clair & Isaac need a church

Thank you for your prayers and support and service together for His Kingdom. Our Father is at work in so many lives!

You are all such a blessing.
