What a thrill it is to take the Gospel out into the community.
Together with Gary,Peter and Claire, we hitched up the trailer, packed with everything needed for the event—BBQs, tables, chairs, and gazebos.
When we arrived, it was great to see Jared and Clive already setting up the sound system. We gathered with Pastor Leon Cameron to pray before beginning the rest of the preparations. The BBQs, gazebos, tables, chairs, and balloons were all set in place, while Claire and the church team went out to deliver the final invitations. Gary coordinated the BBQ team so that everything was ready to begin serving at 12 noon.
Before long, people began to arrive. The onions were sizzling, the music was playing, and everyone was warmly welcomed as they waited for the burgers and sausages to be served. It reminds us of the model Jesus gave us—while we may not have fish and loaves, we can still share food, friendship, and the love of Christ through a bread roll with a burger or sausage and onions.
One of the greatest joys is sitting with people, talking with them, praying for them, and listening as they enjoy the music. We also have opportunities to share personal testimonies of God’s faithfulness and to tell others that Jesus is real and able to meet every need.
Pastor Leon then invited Evangelist Peter Ruck to share his personal testimony and present a clear Gospel message. Peter used his distinctive Heart Tract to explain God’s love, mankind’s need of salvation, and the saving grace found in Jesus Christ. It was a simple yet powerful presentation of the Gospel, and many listened attentively to the message of hope.
Gary Seithel then shared the vision of On the Move, explaining the heart behind this outreach ministry and its desire to take the Gospel into local communities. He also took the opportunity to thank everyone who had played a part in making the day possible, expressing his appreciation for all the volunteers whose faithful service, practical help, and commitment contributed to a successful and God-honouring event.
Pastor Leon played the keyboard while the choir led a time of worship, inviting people to come along to church. It is always wonderful to witness people encountering God as they sit together around the tables on a sunny afternoon. The photographs capture some precious memories of a truly blessed day.
To God be the glory for the great things He has done.
