“On the Move BBQ” – Brentwood Churches Community Outreach
It was wonderful to work together in unity as local churches with a heart for mission, sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ in Brentwood.
On the Move is a ministry that provides a unique opportunity to connect with people through a community BBQ. Just as Jesus fed the crowds, we were able to serve hot dogs and burgers while offering friendship, conversation, prayer, and the love of Christ.
Over two days in the Baytree Piazza, in the centre of town behind the Old Chapel Ruins on Brentwood High Street, people were invited to sit down, enjoy live gospel worship music, and experience a welcoming community atmosphere.
The event created many opportunities to talk with people, pray for them, and share the message of God’s love. We were encouraged to see some people respond to Jesus, while others experienced healing and answered prayer.
We were also blessed with beautiful weather and made many new friends throughout the weekend. It was a great example of churches working together in partnership to reach our community.
