“Life changing story”
Stephen Derbyshire was born and raised in St Helens, Merseyside.
Stephen’s early life was almost destroyed by drug addiction; becoming the first registered drug addict in his hometown. What began just as a one-off experience soon spiraled into a destructive life which left him with little hope.
Everything changed when Stephen heard the good news about Jesus.
His life was radically transformed, setting him on a new path of purpose, restoration and service. Out of his own experience came a passion for others to find the freedom that he had experienced.
Stephen went on to serve as an ordained minister of City Gates Church, Ilford for 32 years. He is also presently a director of Teen Challenge, helping and supporting countless lives that have been affected by deep hurt and addiction and other life controlling challenges.
