“God wants a relationship with us”

“God wants a relationship with us”

Grace Church – Fanpol, Minsk Belarus.
“The morning began with wonderful time of worship and prayer in a traditional Belarussian style with traditional hymns played on the piano. It was the first time I had exprienced quite like this in Belarus it was really a spirit-filled time.
It was time to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. I began to share the Good News hand tract how on left hand side was the Lord’s prayer and the Jesus went to the Father and asked what He should pray. (in Luke & Matthew 6:9;13). Then I drew there attention to the right hand with Bible verse Isaiah 49:16 asking them all to look at the right palms as we read the verse to them explaining how God knew each person name and that God wanted a personal relationship with each person. I felt so motivated as each person look so intently.
I asked if they would like to hear story how God had answered a prayer in my life and showed them pictures. Then shared the Great Commission with the church from Matthew 28:18-20. how they had a responsiblity to share with their community. How we are all different God had made this way, so we could make relationship others and invite them to hear about Jesus.
The church had been involved in tent mission last summer, it was good to hear the pastor how it has attracted people who would have not normally attend church. I finished the service with an invitation to receive Jesus as their saviour.
Reboot Conference Minsk Belarus

Reboot Conference Minsk Belarus

Peter Ruck first visited Minsk in 1999 to minister, then served several times at the “Time to Go”  mission schools over a number of years.Peter was excited at the prospect of meeting former students and friends on his return.

The Reboot conference was for evangelists and missionary’s who have passed through the mission schools. Delegates came from various regions of  Belarus and Russia some had travelled over 2000km in a bus.

The team of experienced evangelist missionary leaders were Yauheni Huronvich, Svetlana Novikova from Belarus, Sofi Pranczk, Waldemar Pranczk from Bulgaria, Andre Alexeev and Inna Burmistrova from Russia and Peter Ruck from England.  Each one of the team shared with the delegates over days it was a great time of fellowship we all ate together it was good time of bonding and team building. They enjoyed the practical demonstrations and workshops shared by this experienced team.

An evening  of Question and Answers was very popular with everyone. The Finale was a time of testimonies for the delegates it was good to hear how many of them had caught fire as many shared with us all it was so encouraging.

Brussels Conference

Brussels Conference

We were invited for a three day conference by the Christian Church, Schaerbeek, Brussels. Our host Pastor Petar Petrov welcomed us and introduced us Pastor Gururaj Iyengar and myself Peter Ruck. Telling the folk we had travelled from England and driving from the ferry in Dunkirk to the centre of Brussels.

We came together each session to preach, teach and heal. Each day bringing words of “ENCOURAGEMENT” from day one people had encounters with God.

People were healed and saved the next two days. We had a time of testimonies on the final day it was a wonderful time of ministry. So many people were blessed. I had a special moment seeing a young man making a decision to follow Jesus, his name was Ivan he was learning English and received my book “passing the baton”. I asked do you have a Bible he said No, I planted a seed in his hand to buy a Bible this morning he sent me a picture of him with my book in one hand and a Bible in the other.

Leaving them with challenge of fulfilling the great mission. What and encouraging time Raj and Peter had over this weekend. Came home tired but truly blessed.

Songs & Stories

Songs & Stories

The evening began with Nick Mitchell welcoming everyone and introducing the worship team led by their senior leader Graham O’Leary from the Encounter House church. Rev. Roger Gayler from Lambourne Church read Psalm23 before James O’Leary sang a very moving solo. Then, Nick Mitchell intoduced Peter Ruck inviting him to share his story.
Peter began telling his story which began with Lord’s Prayer those who know him know about his passion everyone was about to hear how the seed was sown into his life by his parents, Sunday school teachers and Lambourne school teachers.
Peter shared his childhood, going to local school, attending Lambourne Church getting married there his children were christened there. How he moved to Theydon Bois, raising his family there.
His testimony unfolded how he become christian, going through the Roman Road seven scriptures with everyone. How one particular scripture tipped him over the edge “For the wages of sin are death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord”
He told everyone he had only gone to church because his wife was sick. His encounter was life changing, ten days he walked away from a horrific car crash. How God had opened his late wife Eileen’s blind eye, before she passed away and he was at peace knowing God had prepared a table for her in heaven.
Peter had prepared a visual presentation on a large screen, He introduce his wife Judy showed pictures of a mission into the jungle, into prisons, hospitals, explaining how his ministry had taken around the world into Africa, Asia, Europe, the former Soviet Union, Israel, India USA, Canada and of course around the UK. Peter’s book “Passing the Baton” was available on the bookstall – a true story about a message that takes a village boy around the world.
Many people came for prayer during a time of ministry with Peter and the Zeal team.
Some great contacts were made as Peter Brown of Zeal a prison Chaplin received a collection of poems by Sheila Bell from Abridge Free Church to be distributed to inmates. They are pictured together below.
Comment: It was a very uplifting message tonight I am very blessed – Michael Reeves.
BACK TO MY ROOTS.

BACK TO MY ROOTS.

Sometime ago now, actually it was in the summer of 1999. When I was driving through Theydon Bois were I use to live down into Abridge the village where I was born. I was being challenged in my spirit that I have travelled around the world as missionary sharing the Good News of Jesus. But never where my christian walk began.
I met with the vicar of Lambourne Church to discuss a memorial stone. This gave me an opportunity to share what was on my heart. Rev Roger Gayler shared that in 2020 it was celebrating 900 years of church at Lambourne – “ and still serving the community”.
A meeting was arranged with the other churches in the village the Encounter Church who meet in the village community hall and The Abridge Free Church who all decided to work together and have a mission weekend.
Saturday morning a Community Breakfast
The Community Breakfast saw around 40 people arriving to enjoy a full english breakfast it was going to be a little different. Because Peter Ruck was introduced as the local lad who had come to share his story.
Peter began telling everyone how he was born in the village and beginning of his story, Right at the beginning as there were three churches working together stressing the importance of the churches working together to reach out to the  people in the community. He shared the story and Parable of the lost sheep it is one of the parables of Jesus. The story is all about a Shepherd who leaves his flock of ninety-nine sheep for the one which is lost.
Luke 15:3-7 New International Version (NIV)
3 Then Jesus told them this parable: 4 “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? 5 And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders 6 and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbours together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ 7 I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
Peter asked everyone were are you today?  Are you in that Dark Valley are you lost like that sheep? Can you hear your name being called God want’s to save you and heal just like the sheep who was caught in the bush!
He ended by sharing the importance of Cross and how Jesus died for us to set us free from our sin – sharing John 3:16.
Peter said, this was a fore taste of the Sunday evening meeting “Songs & Stories that everyone was invited too.
Literally down memory at Abridge Free Church

Literally down memory at Abridge Free Church

Sunday 29th December was my last preaching engagement of 2019. I was invited to preach at the Abridge Free Church down a little lane off the London Road in Abridge just past this signpost. I would attend the church youth club there in my boyhood.

It was a great opportunity to share the Good News of Jesus Christ to the congreation. I began by sharing “What is a missionary”  I used scriptures to explain “  Jesus said to them again, ‘… As the Father has sent Me, I also send you’ ” (John 20:21). A missionary is someone sent by Jesus Christ just as He was sent by God. The calling on a life – We tend to forget that the one great reason underneath all missionary work is not primarily the elevation of the people, their education, nor their needs, but is first and foremost the command of Jesus Christ—“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations …” (Matthew 28:18 -20).

“Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age’” (Matthew 28:18-20). Next sharing the story of the “Three trees” using 1 Corthinians 1:27-29 to illustrate the meaning of this story. Peter used Isaiah 61 to illustate his own desire to return to village and share about his own life.

Peter explained his passion for the Lord’s Prayer the seed that had been planted in him. Nick Mitchell explained that Lambourne  School have their school assembly in the church. So Peter planning to get 200 copies of the hand tract with Lord’s Prayer for each child. It was good to meet Iris Reeves again who remembered me as a young boy!

Looking forward to 2020 in Abridge
