Holding the Fort

Holding the Fort

God has not called me to merely equal or to exceed the accomplishments of this or that brother. He called me to do my best and to plan for a finished work in whatever part of the field I was placed. It has been a privilege to work alongside my friend Pastor Niyi Ayandokun organising outreach events, and ‘holding the fort” during his vacation. Pastor Niyi gave me a blank canvas to preach on whatever the Holy Spirit laid on my heart. God called me to be a soul winner to the best of my talents. He called me to the ministry to “do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.”

My message on Sunday 21st June.
“Our relationship – depends upon “Love” – our need to be loved,
My theme scripture – Father’s love using Romans 5:8
Paul writes these beautiful profound words “But God demonstrates His own love towards us while we were yet sinners. Christ died for us – His love is unconditional!
I shared a video on the screen entitled “Father’s love letter” so much of this very visual presentation was so summarise the word that I preached.
I had never met the worship leader prior to preaching but the songs and words fitted like a glove once more emphasising the message, and Holy Spirit was leading the service.
I looked up to see a man who I had prayed for in a shopping centre who was in a lot of pain some three weeks before when doing street outreach together with Pastor Niyi. He was smiling at me he was a Sikh, I asked him, “how is the pain in your knee” he replied “much better”.
As an evangelist you don’t always see the people anymore when you minister on the street. It just so happened I was to be at the church this Sunday, we all need encouraging even experienced evangelist.
I pointed to the cross above my head and shared how Jesus had died for us all for our sins and had taken our sickness and diseases into His own body for each one of us here. (John3:16). People responded for salvation and healing. It was good to hear Gloria giving her testimony’s of her healing, and the Sikh man asking, “can I comeback next week, my leg is felling better? “ It was such an encouraging morning for us all. Each person left with a copy of “Father’s love letter”

Sunday 28th June – God’s Ambassador back NTCG Harold Hill.
We began with a time of prayer and worship it was nice to see some new faces again.
The message was centred around I AM how God revealed himself to Moses as “I AM” in Exodus 3:14. I went through each I AM in John’s Gospel how each metaphor elevates Jesus to the level of creator, saviour, redeemer, Lord of all that can only be claimed by a sovereign God.
My message came from John 15 “I AM THE VINE” I wanted to share how God is the vinedresser (gardener). Jesus said I am the vine, you are the branches. Again I used a visual presentation to tell the story of the importance of branches being fruitful – Jesus said, “Abide in Me” and I in you. The fruitful branches, remain and abide in the vine and branches are my disciples, the unfruitful branches are cut off. Sometimes we need to be pruned to become fruitful again.
This was to illustrate the importance of the church and us all to be “attached” to God, through Jesus and to do HIS will and to be fruitful servants by sharing the love of God. (Relationship with God)
I drew a picture of a tree with trunk and branches, asking everyone “what can’t you see” – explaining the tree depended on the roots to give life! We all need to be Rooted in Faith. 2 Colossians 6:7.
Once more, we concluded the service with a time of ministry and people gave testimonies of their healing. It was so encouraging to see the people who God had touched the previous week bring family and friends. (Mark 16:20)

GoodNews Centre Briar Rd, Harold Hill
Hosting the “On the Move” team

The NTCG Church is on the corner of Briar Road, it has recently been refurbished. It was an ideal time for Pastor Niyi to reach-out into the community. Opposite was a new development of houses and apartments invitations were given out through door to door invites.

The car park soon looked very different tables and chairs, gazebo’s, balloons hanging from the railings. The BBQ’s were alight the smell of onions was wafting around the neighbourhood the sausages and burgers were sizzling. People began to arrive as ECHO a live band arrived to bring their very distinct brand of Gospel music with Soul snd Motown flavour.

It was a time to sit around and chat tell people about the Good News of the Gospel. It was nice to hear two people make a commitment in their life to follow Jesus.

When you have Good News to share its good to share it. We had an iMove training programme in Brussels were we taught street evangelism techniques. We had a team of experience evangelist from four different nations. Then we took teams out to put it into action during the Tour de France. The delegates“did so well”. We preached on the street and in Churches in Brussels and in Antwerp in a Russian speaking church. I was blessed to link up and be with Tent 100 team once more and see my interpreter Cynthia become a bold street preacher!

Three days of Amazing weather for “On the Move BBQ”

Three days of Amazing weather for “On the Move BBQ”

Three days of Amazing weather for “On the Move BBQ” on the Chapel Ruins our historical christian site in the centre of Brentwood. It’s such a popular event in the town. It is supported by the local churches this year we had 59 members and three different “Live bands” to entertain our visitors.

Our team of inviters took to the High Street whilst other made people welcome as they sat down with their Burgers or Hot dogs. Over 1,134 servings cooked items onions, rolls and cups of water which were so appreciated in the warm weather.

We had some great conversations with people, some people had real needs we were able to pray with them. As a result three people accepted Jesus one being a 90year old lady. A man had back and leg pains and was unemployed he was prayed and the pain left him. His main plea “ Pray for me I need a job” two hour later he returned saying he had been offered a job as window cleaner. A lady came with a friend she was walking with stick the pain left her immediately as she began walk. The next day she was back to tell us she no longer needed her stick. Many more were prayed for, also having the Good News of Jesus explained to them.We were also able to introduce a lady to the CAP representative because this lady had just lost her home.

It’s great to take Church out into the community.

Preaching & Planning: A Tent Mission in Bucharest

Preaching & Planning: A Tent Mission in Bucharest

Our team arrived back in Bucharest to meet local pastors to plan for a tent mission in the city centre. We gathered together and committed the vision to prayer. We focussed on unity and the event to be directed by the Holy Spirit as we prayed.

We adjourned to the “upper room” and went through our ten point plan. We ate together and the team from the UK went out to look at sites that had been suggested in the meeting.

We came to preach the Gospel Pastor Obi travelled to preach two hours outside the city centre. Pastor Gururaj Iyengar preached and Evangelist Liviu Cristescu shared his testimony at Citam Church.

This time I was invited by Pastor Razvan to speak The Rivers of Life Church. He has picked on the name the team call me “Uncle Peter”. He introduced me to his not as Peter Ruck but Uncle Peter.

It was a busy programme. I was to speak “live on air” to bring a message of salvation and pray for healing which was transmitted in hospitals and homes over an internet channel and social media.

Then I was asked to speak to the children and the youth in their meeting. Whilst Pastor Razvan held a communion service.

I returned to speak to the Church and ministered beginning by sharing how a “born again believer” could be identified as they exhibit the “fruits of the spirit” so many people who came forward the message was centred on Jesus we saw many respond for salvation and healing . We certainly saw that God was touching so many people who responded to prayer.

That evening Pastor Obi and I went to minister in Dummasis church, this time I delivered a testimony message and Pastor Obi delivered the main message. Once more we saw many people respond as we both prayed for them.

Pastor Raj and Liviu ministered at The Rivers of Life Church that evening as God touched many lives.

It was indeed a fruitful weekend.

Mission to Romania

Mission to Romania

“Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his words by signs and wonders that accompanied it. Mark 16:20.

We went to deliver our vision to do a tent mission in Bucharest to a group of pastors leaving them to consider our vision to reach the unsaved explaining that they would need take ownership of the event.

Our team was made of Liviu Cristescu a Romanian now living in the UK,

Gururaj Iyengar (Raj) from India now living in the UK, Obi Madunagu from Nigeria now living in the UK and me (Peter from England). God had laid this on our hearts to take this mission to the Romanian people.

Sunday morning Liviu and Raj went to share and preach in a Church. Obi and I went to another church to share and preach. We were all going for an evening service were Pastor Obi was going to preach.

We arrived and learnt it had been decided that we should present the vision to the Church and other pastors who were attending. Pastor Razvan said we want you to present the vision to everyone tonight. He told us, “I want Pastor Raj with Liviu to speak first, then I want ‘Uncle Peter’ he picked this up from our initial meeting (Peter Ruck) to speak next with Liviu then Pastor Obi can preach his message with Theodore who had arrange our programme”

This message finished and signs and wonders began as we saw lives being touched body, soul and spirit as people coming forward for ministry. I think the picture here say a thousand words.

“ His presence went before us and He glorified His Name, Amen”. Gururaj Iyengar

We will be returning again as team meanwhile Theodore Cristescu will be working on the logistics with the network of pastors. We are now praying for a mission tent, a venue, licence and logistic requirements.
