Welcome
As the welcome to Flame of Revival God had laid it on my heart to share the message on the banner over Evan Robert’s pulpit, at Moriah Church, from the Welsh Revival. It reads
“Prayer makes a difference”
I then read from the scriptures “Ask, seek, knock” which is a biblical phrase, primarily from Matthew 7:7-8 and Luke 11:9-10, that encourages persistent prayer and emphasizes confidence in God’s willingness to answer. The verbs, in the original Greek, are in the present continuous tense, meaning “keep on asking,” “keep on seeking,” and “keep on knocking”. It’s to be understood as a call to prayer through petition (asking), devotion (seeking), and intercession (knocking).
Worship
The scripture “God inhabits the praises of His people” from Psalm 22:3 came alive to us as Gary Wilder and Mike Gregson led us into a time of Worship including singing the Lord’s Prayer.
Guest Speaker
Our Guest Speaker Dennis Pethers then shared his testimony of how as a young man, coming from Dagenham, he was working in the city doing quite well. He had no Christian background so when his boss said “Pethers, you need to read this book by C. S. Lewis” it was a shock. However, the book was to change his life. Through reading it, he was led to going to church, becoming a Christian and eventually becoming a Baptist minister.
His passion was to preach to those outside the church walls. God eventually led him into mission and evangelism and has since taken him around the world. He has authored two books.
Comment from Dennis Pethers: …. “Great to be with you yesterday, encouraging to see so many people wanting prayer to receive the passion and annointing to join the Jesus mission”
